Confidentiality
The law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and a counselor. Information is not disclosed without written permission. There are exceptions to this and the appropriate authorities must be contacted by law:
Child or dependent adult or elder abuse is suspected.
Client is threatening serious or bodily harm to another person.
Client intends to harm him or herself.
